THLD - Threshhold Pharmeceuticals, Inc.
Many people, including myself, are trying to discover the next
DNDN,
VNDA, and
HGSI.
All of these stocks went from trading as penny stocks, to now double digit equities.
While I will never claim I have found the next biotech stock that will guarantee this type of return, I can only speculate as to which have the most potential to be the next huge biotech stocks in the near future.
I believe everyone interested in playing the biotech industry should start researching
THLD immediately. The potential for Threshold`s current assortment of cancer drugs in current clinical studies is tremendous.
I would love to go down the list of their current drugs, but I feel the information readily available on Threshold`s website would do a much better job than myself at explaining what their drugs do. I recommend watching the video on their website regarding their drug TH-302 and its effects on Tumor Hypoxia. This drug specifically targets soft tissue sarcomas that are very rare.
THLD is currently holding clincial trials that are showing very promising results. One of the doctors leading a clinical trial with TH-302 is Dr. Sant P. THLD`s other cancer drugs including treatments for lung, pancreatic, melanoma, and sarcoma. If any of
THLD`s chemotherapy drugs were to receive approval for any of the aforementioned types of cancer, this would increase the valuation of Threshold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. by a large amount in my opinion.
Something of significance to note here is the fact
THLD recently completed a $35 million dollar private equity financing of common stock and warrants. The common stock was priced at $1.91, and the warrants have an exercise price of $2.23/share as shown in THIS press release. The current closing price (as of 11/20) is $2.03/share.
Because of this private equity financing, recent significant insider buying at these levels (Mostly at $1.91/share), and positive clinical trial data, makes me think Threshold Pharmaceuticals is potentially on its way to becoming a biotech powerhouse.
I believe insiders and institutions are very positive about what they are seeing develop internally with Threshold`s assortment of chemotherapy treatments.
Comments from CEO Larry Selick add to this optimism: "I am pleased that we have been able to complete this financing with some of the highest quality investors doing biotechnology deals today," said Barry Selick, Ph.D., Threshold`s chief executive officer. "Response assessments in over 90 solid tumor patients suggest that TH-302 is active in monotherapy and combination therapy, particularly in patients with metastatic melanoma, refractory lung cancer, soft tissue sarcoma, and pancreatic cancer. The proceeds from this financing will enable the company to generate the additional clinical data required to define and undertake the optimal registration strategy for this very promising drug candidate." THLD so much, that I have no problems recommending it as my 2010 speculative biotech pick of the year. I am not expecting anything big anytime soon, but rather I would like to let you know that at these price levels I believe
THLD could provide a significant return of investment on any positive news. If these drugs fail, like any other biotech, losses could be massive. That would also mean huge losses for all of the insiders and institutions who have purchased shares recently.
They most likely know more about the potential of Threshold`s drugs than myself, so I feel good about following them into a long term investment.
I suggest you start your research and due diligence on
THLD, as this could potentially be one of the best biotech plays for 2010 and beyond. From this point on, I will update you on
