S&P -6.6 edging modesttly off afternoon low A solid move higher off yesterday`s low was followed by limited upside this morning and now two distinct intraday moves lower. This puts in the index in a potentially key short term time period as it edges off the recent low. A push back through intraday barriers at 1049 and then the midday range lows (1051/1052) is needed to neutralize the weaker pattern that is potentilly developing off the high.
Sector Relative Weakness Sectors that are underperforming the S&P during the afternoon retreat include: Oil Service OIH, Energy XLE, Finance XLF, Semi SMH, Disk Drive, Airline FAA, Networking, Casino, Solar TAN.
