StockGuru Weekend Alert:
Why don`t Microcap Stocks
Crash, Too (They do)
One of the
interesting things to watch over the past couple of weeks is how microcap
stocks on the bulletin board and pink sheets were basically ignored in many
ways by the crash. While electronic trading and people panicing sent the
major indices down significantly, many of our favorite stocks on the
microcaps held their own.
Of course we all
know that the microcaps are far more volitile than the big boards, but some
of the weakness in many stocks many loved and owned has come full
circle.
Let`s look at some
of the biggest losers just on Friday:
http://money.cnn.com/data/losers/
There are so many
media companies, automotive related companies, finacial companies, and
energy related companies. Big names like Morgan Stanley, Quest Energy, and
others.
The truth is
microcap stocks are being hurt as well, but some of the biggest traders are
actually doing okay. Many lower volume stocks held their own because they
are thinly held and those shareholders recognize real value. They tend to
know the company very well and they often personally know or have met the
management.
Several recent StockGuru Profiles were up
Friday:
DGLP,
ESIV, FLCN, REER, and CWLC.
Also note our latest profile - PHMB
was up sharply Thursday and only down slightly on
Friday!
Now - of course -
many were down from the past. We are not immune in the microcap
world.
NEW PROFILE PHMB Showed Great
Strength Thursday, and was only slightly down on Friday.
